Videos
Over on my blog you can find a load of short videos covering topics such as how to inspect your gear and tying knots. I have plenty more planned, but do feel free to drop me a message with suggestions for new ones, especially for anything to do with the LCMLA scheme.

Radon Tools
I have used the data made available by BCA in ‘Radon Underground 2020’ to produce a Simple Exposure Scheme log spreadsheet than can be used by anyone in any UK region. Before using this tool, you really should have completed the BCA Radon Training module on Google Classroom and passed the test at the end. You should also have read Radon Underground 2020.
I have also produced a Universal Radon Exposure Estimator for the Detailed Exposure Scheme on behalf of the Peak Instructed Caving Affiliation. This can be used by anyone across the UK to log their radon exposure, but you’ll have to input the radon data for your trips in from Radon Underground 2020 or other sources. To download that, visit the PICA website.
Cave / Mine Leader
You can download all the Training and Assessment syllabus documents from the BCA website here:

Cave Instructor Certificate (inc Mine Module)
As above with the LCMLA content, the BCA website now has a host of useful downloads and my notes are no longer needed. See the BCA website CIC pages for details:

Other Information & Links
I also provide additional material for LCMLA courses which are entirely produced by myself for the use of my clients on training courses and in preparation for assessment. As you will no doubt be told on my courses, my commitment to your development is an ongoing one after the training course and you can contact me by email at any time for additional help and resources.
You can also look at my personal blog for additional learning resources like rigging guides and mineral ID aids.

LCMLA North Wales Panel Handouts
You can download a copy of the standard LCMLA Mine Leader course handouts for the North Wales Trainer Assessor Panel. They were originally written around 1994 by Dave Baines, Dena Proctor, Adrian Pierce and Mike Cousins (amongst others no doubt) at the inception of the Local Mine Leader Scheme. I have updated these excellent documents to make them more current. They are freely available to all clients on LCMLA courses run by either myself or any North Wales Panel member and are also available to download through other web sites.
